ASPIRA Program Support Specialist Essential Functions:

The Program Support Specialist (PSS) will provide administrative support for the Alternative School Network and ISBE programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating smooth program operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Alternative School Network and ISBE programs, including data entry, record-keeping, and report generation.
  • Facilitate Communications: Serve as a liaison between students, staff, program managers, and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and ensuring timely dissemination of information.
  • Student Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in compliance with ISBE regulations and program requirements.
  • Coordinate Meetings: Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions for program participants and staff.
  • Program Reporting: Assist in preparing program reports and documentation for submission to ISBE and other regulatory bodies.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor program activities to ensure compliance with ISBE/ASN regulations and program guidelines.
  • Professional Development: Attend necessary training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to program administration and compliance.
  • Programmatic Duties: Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support program goals and objectives.


  • Experience in administrative support roles, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Knowledge of ISBE/ASN regulations and compliance requirements preferred.
  • A high school diploma or some college is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours to accommodate program needs.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $18 per hour with benefits.
